Why do we emphasise on food?
We often hear the saying ‘we are what we eat’. That is because food is information for the cells. The food molecule binds onto the cell surface and causes a change in how the cell functions. The cell from good molecules can end up making anti-inflammatory compounds while the cell from bad molecules can end up making pro-inflammatory compounds. Hippocrates already said, “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” Also, in the ancient ayurvedic philosophy food is used as medicine. Your genes are not fixed but capable of dynamically responding to information or instructions that comes from your diet, lifestyle, and environment.
