Create your vision board
We have more control over our lives than we think. We are free to go our own way and do not have to follow someone else's path. The more society tries to get us on the mainstream path, the more courage we need to tread our own unconventional paths and follow our dreams. You are unique! Appreciate your uniqueness and be creative to envision a dreamful life.
Take some time, put a blank sheet of paper and colored pencils in front of you. Sit down and close your eyes. Mentally distance yourself from everything around you.
Ask yourself the following questions and take the time to answer them one at a time. After each question, you can open your eyes and write down your thoughts:
What are you grateful for?
What does not fit into your life anymore? What do you have to let go of?
What do you want to attract in your life?
Where do you see yourself at the end of 2021?
How does your home environment looks like and what changes do you aim at?
Where do you see yourself in your career?
Which people would you like to be in touch with?
What personal values do you want to strengthen until the the end of the year?
What do you have to change or start doing to realize these goals?
What can you do today, this week, this month to reach your goals?
Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years?
Our friend and health coach Ann made an amazing video giving you tips and tricks on how to make a vision board that works.
New Year, New Beginnings
It's time to look back at the past year, see what we learned and how it changed us. It's time to think ahead and make resolutions for the new year. Where do you want to see yourself at the end of 2021? What is really important to you? What passion do you want to continue to explore? Do you have the courage to follow your dreams and take control of your life, even if that means falling out of society's norms?
We are unique and not an imitation of the people around us! Too often we try to fit in, to live life the way others expect us to live it, by following the norms and walking on beaten tracks. Many of us go this route because it is easier, it is like "painting by numbers": you are given a default picture by your culture and community with a number in each box and the correct colors to go with it. The instructions for it then tell you which color is for which field and you just fill it out. But what if instead you took a blank sheet of paper and started drawing without knowing exactly what the result will look like? Take the risk to be different and yet follow your passion and fulfill your purpose! There will be ups and downs. Sometimes you will ride the wave and other times you will fall and the wave will overtake you, but there is always another wave behind that will give you another chance to get up and slowly learn how to surf.
