Chickpea Dip/Sauce


  • 1 cup (250gr) cooked chickpeas

  • 3 T Tahini

  • 4 T fresh lemon juice

  • 2 tsp. roasted fennel seeds

  • 1 tsp. roasted cumin seeds

  • 1 tsp. long pepper

  • a pinch of turmeric powder

  • 5 T olive oil

  • Salt

  • 3 tsp hot water

If it is too thick and does not become smooth, just add a little more water.


Roast all spices individually and grind them in a mortar. Then put all ingredients in a food processor and mix until the dip is nice and smooth. Depending on whether you want it as a dip or sauce, you can add more or less liquid.
